Mums go free in Warwick Castle |
| Event Description |
Mums get a treat on March 18th with a free day at Warwick Castle. Book at least 48 hours in advance online at www.warwick-castle.com to secure free entry for Mum - saving £21.60 - when she visits Warwick Castle with at least one other person: child entry costs £15.60 (ages 4-11 years; under 4s go free as well) and adult entry costs £21.60. Warwick Castle’s own historian suggests that Mothering Sunday originated from the tradition for female domestic servants to be granted a day off work to visit their mothers and families. At Britain’s Ultimate Castle, Mum can lose herself in a thousand years of history as she explores the ancient walls and towers. She can explore the 60-acres of grounds and gardens, relax on the gently-sloping banks of the River Avon before admiring a bird of prey display and discover salacious surprises from Edwardian times in Secrets & Scandals. She can indulge her childhood fantasies and play at being a Princess in The Princess Tower, complete with princess portrait gallery and lessons in poise; and marvel at the opulent surroundings of the State Rooms that showcase historic treasures. Note that free entry for Mums is only available for bookings made online at least 48 hours in advance.
