Event Name Storytelling this Christmas at the Somerset House Ice Rink
Event Description Join some of Britain’s top children’s authors for a magical half hour of Storytelling beside the Tiffany Christmas Tree during this year’s season of Skate at Somerset House. Runs from
3 December 2011 to 22 January 2012.

Saturday 3 December
Tiffany Story
The series begins with a charming story especially written for the season at Somerset House…..

Saturday 10 December
Kay Woodward: Skate School
Ages: 8+
Skates, spins and sequins – join Kay Woodward as she talks about and reads from her popular Skate School series.

Sunday 11 December
Sue Mongredien: Oliver Moon
Ages: 5-6+
Join Sue Mongredien for tales of magic, mystery and monsters from the enchanting Oliver Moon series.

Tuesday 13 December
Chris Wormell: Molly and the Night Monster
Ages: 5-7 yrs
Multi award-winning author and artist, Chris Wormell, reads from some of his best-loved stories featuring beautiful watercolour illustrations including Two Frogs, Molly and the Night Monster, One Smart Fish and The Little Stone Rabbit.

Wednesday 14 December
Louise Yates: Frank & Teddy make friends
Ages: 1-5 yrs
New author-illustrator Louise Yates reads Frank & Teddy make friends.

Saturday 17 December
Sam Gayton: The Snow Merchant
Ages: 9-11 yrs
The Snow Merchant, Sam Gayton’s highly acclaimed first book, is a beautiful modern fairytale filled with family secrets, magical transformations and wild adventure.

Thursday 22 December
Joanna Nadin: Penny Dreadful
Ages: 7+
Presenting Penelope Jones, or Penny Dreadful to her family.

All the storytelling sessions are free. The sessions run 3.15 – 3.45pm and there is no need to book. Authors will be on hand to sign books and meet visitors after each session.



Open daily 10.00– 22.00 (check online for details of special late night openings and Christmas/New Year opening hours)

Skate session tickets including free skate hire:
£10.50-£15 for adults
£7.50 and £8.50 for children
£17 Club nights (no children admitted)
Special Early bird offer: £7.50 for selected morning sessions for all ages across the season.
