I was told of a practice call 'stem cell storage' by a GP friend of mine. From what I understand they take and store the umbilical cord at birth and can use it for all kinds of future surgery practice.

Also apparently a number of fellow GP's have already done it. I registered for a pack to be sent (here - http://www.cells4life.co.uk/request-a-welcome-pack)

Has anyone else done it or have any experience of it? I still don't quite know how it works...

The pack arrived this morning. Very helpful indeed and most amazingly it DOES treat the child that it comes from. Due to have a chat with their team in the next coming days. Will report back :)
